    Beretta Extrema 2

I'm looking into getting one. What experiences have you guys had with them?

I have a 28" black Xtrema2 that I just installed a kick-off recoil absorber on. I can't comment on the kick-off yet but the gun has been very nice. Initially it had trouble with the walmart winchester promos (these can stick in the chamber of any gun), but I ran a box of magnums through it and it eats up the cheap stuff very nicely now. I bought it because it's a big, adjustable gun and I'm a big, tall guy. That said, it still doesn't fit right (no gun ever has) and I'm considering putting on an aftermarket add-on rib with a corresponding foam stock riser to get my head up. My gun shoots left and I'm sure it's do to the fit. I need to shoot off a bench to find out for sure, though.

It's been pretty easy to clean so far. Cleaning probably takes more time than on pumps, but all my other guns are semi's so I'm used to it. I've been using Hoppe's elite bore gel for the bore and each cleaning session gets progressively easier to clean. Check out the beretta forum on shotgunworld.com to get a better idea of how to clean it and break it in.

I have the original Extrema in camo, and it is great. It is versatile, runs perfect with 2 3/4in - 3 1/2in loads, light recoil, and very tough. I am also a big guy 6'6" and it fits me just right, try one on for size if you haven't already.

They are great guns hold up well, and manage recoil well. For a clay gun I'd pick it over a Benelli. For hunting in the field I'd take the Benelli.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Get a SX3, whole much more of a gun. Many I know where planning to get a Extrema 2 but after seeing my SX3, they all bought SX3's. Arguably the best hunting shotgun on the market right now.

The Extrema 2 is a seriously sweet shotgun. It could be better than my Benelli M2, but not worth the investment in the gun and parts at this point. Basically, it's a great hybrid of the M1/M2 and an 1187.

Jeff Cramblitt, a noted tactical and competition shooter, in Nashville absolutely loves his and runs and guns with it at matches all day long. He actually won the 2006 Area 6 3-Gun in Tactical Division and took the overall with it too.

For clays, I use my M2 or my Briley built 1100. It's only until the Kreighoff gets in (yeah...decided to be stupid with the money). For hunting birds, my good ol' beat to hell 1100 is all I need.
