Recommend a two point tactical sling?

Since it is a different topic, I decided to start a new thread.

I have been using Blackhawk three point sling on my shotgun for a while, but many instructors suggested me to switch to a two point in associate with transition to weak hand and ejection port reload.

There are a few requirements for the slings
- my shotgun does not have a sling mount at front.
- my shotgun has a traditional stock without a sling mount either.

Does any one here has some experience with two points?

I like Spectergear 2 point sling or Viking Tactical sling. Both good systems with slightly different ways to adjust slack.

You'll have to get the front and rear mounts or adapters according to your gun type.

I was trained to use the Viking Tactics VTAC wide sling (that was pretty much the default sling to use in the group), and it did the job for me and many others.

For sling mounts, it depends on the shotgun and setup. For a basic shotgun with buttstock, I had good experience with the GG&G Front & Rear Sling Attachments combo (GG&G just had a 10% sale during the 4th holiday, check to see if the discount is still going on.)

Viking Tactics also sells many different sling mounts in its website (e.g. buttstock adapter), and is worth to checkout.

As with my other shotguns that have more customized setup; I sometimes had to visit hardware stores and made my own sling mount attachements, and that could be both fun and challenging.

(note: From my experience, try to find sling mounts that have quick detach functions. I have wasted my money on non quick detach sling mounts, end-up I went to spend more money on buying the quick detach ones.)

ah, I forgot to mention my current shotgun (if I decided to keep it) is a M590A1.

The m590A1 should have a qd sling mount on the bottom of the bayonet mount or a mount point on the barrel takedown cap. I would use that and a stock adapter.

It may have the qd mount on the bottom of the stock or the small nub on the bottom of the stock that you can put a sling ring onto. If you use those, the gun will flip upside down when you let go of it. Some guys like that because that's the way they like to load.

If you use the rear stock adapter, the gun will stay right side up when you release it.

The Specter Gear 2 point comes with a GG&G front sling adapter and has the butt-cuff type rear connection that doesnt require a sling swivel or additional hardware. Works similar to a VCAS/VTAC sling and are very well made. Price is competitive too.

I use one on my 870 and its been fine through 3 shotgun classes.

Id get the viking tactics sling. I have one on my AR and I love it.

I believe the VCAS is superlative to the VTAC because the VTAC has a tail dangling when the sling is shortened. The VCAS does not. Also, the VTAC has you pull on one tab to shorten, and another tab to lengthen. There is just 1 tab to both shorten and lengthen on the VCAS.

Nice sling. $120.00??? Adjusting the sling doesn't leave a tail. Pretty cool.

Their videos look pretty cool too. But I can't see kicking in a door with only 2 rounds in your 30 round mag.

Fot the price, the Specter Gear 2 point sling is the way to go. It works too.

Look for a fairly simple sling. Don't get one of the ones with a bandolier integrated into the webbing. Those extra shells just make the weapon that much heavier and the weight they add to the sling can affect your ability to aim accurately if the shells are swinging around in the sling.

The $120 price tage is a little ouch for a sling, but the 'single tail to loose or tighten' feature is really really nice.
