Benelli 2 port vs 4 port

ok so I recently found out that the benellis with the 2 port have less issues cycling reduced recoil loads as compared to the 2port barrels. does any one know if you can change out a 4 port ARGO to a two port?

What are the ports you are talking about? Do you have a picture?

Benelli modified the early M4s to use 4 larger gas ports fearing that the general public would experience cycling failures when using lower power loads, i.e. birdshot. Unfortunately the ARGO system didn't compensate as much as intended when pumping full power loads into these enlarged ports and there were some reports of damage to the carrier, so Benelli went back to the two port barrels as they introduced the 11707 model to the public.

Contact Benelli customer service and explain that you have a 4 port barrel and you want it switched to a current two port barrel. They should give you a RMA number and have you ship the entire shotgun back, wherein they will replace the barrel and send it back to you. My switch took about 3 weeks total, though this was 2 years ago.

Pics of the 2 vs. 4 port barrels. Be advised there were also changes made to the gas plugs and the barrel extension flange and collar that adjoins the receiver.
