    can someone tell me if this gun is legal in ca.

    Yep.
    Over all length legal, not semi auto, good to go if you can find one.
    Really a neat little shotgun.

      From this site, it indicates overall length is 784mm, approximately 30.86" so yes it is legal.

      Minimum overall length for a pump action I believe is 26".

        gun registration

        found one from a friend that he bought from a friend without registering how do i get it registered

          You do not register shotguns, only handguns. If you're referring to assault weapons' registeration, the time has already passed and you may not register any new AWs. This is why members are buying "off-list" rifles.

          You will of course have to dros the shotgun through a FFL when you purchase it.
          Since the Mossberg is a "pump-action" it is excempt from being classified as an assault weapon by feature. This means it can have a pistol grip and most ever else.
