Tactical accessories for my Mossberg 500

I've had a mossberg 500 persuader for awhile now, and decided to accessorize it.
So far I am certain that I am going to:
    1) get the knoxx spec ops stock.
    2) replace my ATI heatshield with an original Mossberg.

I need help on 2 things:

    1) I want a light/laser combo. I have seen one where the forend is replaced for a different tactical forend w/ a light/laser combo built in. Is there one for the mossberg 500??? Or, is it better to get a separate unit via rails? Which is best and why?

    2) I need a side saddle that holds 8 shells. Which is best considering ease of installing?

    Thanks!

    Surefire 623FGA
The world’s finest illumination tools and tactical gear for those who go in harm’s way and who demand the ultimate in performance, innovation, and quality.

A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. It's easy to install, and comes with the tool necessary for the forearm replacement.

For an 8 shot side saddle, your best bet would be a Mesa Tactical setup. Im pretty sure they're the only company that makes the 8 round side saddles.

Will the mesa fit between the ends of the reciever? Or does some of it "hang" off the ends? Anyone with Pictures? thanks

I just had a thought...Would having the light built in to the forend be a better solution compared to mounting on the magazine tube? Because when I to pump the shotgun, the size of the flashlight beam and the light will have to move. Is there a laser?

Mesa Tactical indicates it only has a 6 round side-saddle for the Mossberg.

(I think they used to have an eight round side-saddle. Perhaps it's been discontinued...?)

Personally, I've never encountered this problem.
As for the laser, I don't think you need a laser. Just point the shotgun in the general vicinity.

That'll do it, just add light and/or laser of choice.

Is there anything that I can mount to the magazine tube, like a picatanny adapter rail so that I can mount any light/laser combo to?

Is there a way I can use it both on my mossberg 500 persuader and my HK USP .45F?
Get adapter rails for both weapons then find a light/laser that fits on both?

Try a Tri-Rail, it mounts onto your shotgun barrel.

Almost any decent weapon light/laser you buy, such as the Streamlight series, will be compatible to this rail. It's usually a picatinny.
For an HK, you'll have to buy a rail adapter to convert your HK to standdard picatinny rails

But nothing screams 'mall ninja' like a good heat shield

if you are discrediting the practical use of a heat shield, i am assuming you have never fired 300+ rounds per sitting at the range before. let me tell you my 590 gets hot enough to give blisters.

Yeah, barrels do get mighty hot. The para m249 gets so hot that a "second" is necessary to swap out the barral when it starts to bend. But then again, thats a fully automatic machine gun.

Heat shield is a pretty good idea. There's not much realestate on a shotgun, there's that off chance you may come into contact with the barrel portion while handling it. Even after only a couple hundred rounds shooting clays, I find the barrel is sizzlin hot.
