    Mesa Tactical LEO adapter Questions...

Just got my Mesa Tactical LEO adapter in the mail yesterday and I want to get it on! I cannot afford the Mesa Tactical recoil reducer, and I have an old AR commercial spec tube and stock. Should I install the stock AR buffer/spring assembly? Will it help any in reducing the shotguns recoil?

Also do I need the AR spanner wrench to tighten it down?

Lastly, I need to install pistol grip first right? If yes, another delay on getting this together. As I cant find my old AR pistol grip... guess I gotta order the Hogue! I love my AK's Hogue! Best grip I've ever had on it, and internal storage compartment is a plus!

The AR buffer assembly has no use at all with the shotgun stock. It would just rattle around inside the tube.

If you are concerned about recoil and are using an M4 Carbine buttstock, consider the Limbsaver snap-on recoil pad for the M4 Carbine. It's very comfortable. Before the snap-on pad came out, I epoxied a Limbsaver pad to the back of a stock. Used it for years.

A CAR stock wrench is recommended. Channel locks can be used in a pinch, at the risk of chewing up your nut. The stock wrench should be available at any gun store for $5.00. You will want to keep one handy anyway because the nut can loosen if you don't stake it, and most people don't stake it.

      Thanks!
As for the buffer and spring, I didn't think it would do anything, but I have them! Good idea on the limbsaver!

good suggestion; the Limbsaver snap-on pad makes a difference in felt recoil, and fits perfectly over an M4 style stock.

i remember shooting with the old factory Remington LEO metal folding stock with the wafer thin rubber pad that was provided; very cool looking on an old Wingmaster, and painful to shoot. i have one of the metal folders that i keep as a collectible. it sits in it's factory box.
