I actually hear about how this shotgun is recommended for 3 gun a lot. I am not too familiar with the FN SLP though. They are certainly not cheap shotguns with about a $1200 price tag. I'd almost be more inclined to buy a Benelli at that price.

slp's are fine but benelli's are brilliant.

Mine eats everything, even low recoil. It is reliable enough that the Benelli went to market and didn't come home. It is less picky on the ammo it will eat than most shotguns.

i love mine and also own an m4, I love them both. I don't think I could choose between one or the other.

The only ammo that gives me fits in either is Winchester bulk.

If it were about price and being ready to go out of the box, the SLP takes the prize. You don't have to get mag tubes or any other crap to have a great shotgun. I do appreciate the Nordic Components extended bolt knob.

Some say the feed ramp bites your thumb and it needs to be filled in, I disagree, the feed ramp works fine as is. Maybe because I have giant thumbs???

Finish on both guns is excellent.

That SLP sure is a soft shooter! Really seems to tame the recoil & keeps you on target~

I had the stock on my MK1 reduced by nearly an inch, much better. also had both pistons sealed. This allows me to shoot the lightest of loads with NO issues.

Mine cycles cheap Winchester and Federal bulk like a champ with no modifications. It took about 25 rounds to break in. It's fast fast fast!!! And the lack of recoil is awesome.

My only complaint is I have the Competition model, and it turns out it's just the SLP in blue. Why call it the Competition and charge several hundred more for a different color?

A true competition model should have come with an beveled loading port and a filled loading gate. It should also come stock with an oversized charging handle. Then and only then should they have slapped on the "Competition" label.

I almost went SLP but with the price tag of the 930 it was hard to not choose the 930.

But the SLP is one perdy nice running shotgun. I think it's replaced want for a M4

My experience is this:

Absolutely LOVED mine. Had an SLP Mk1. It is designed for the battlefield so everything about it screams rugged/ heavy duty. Easy to disassemble & clean. Very nice rifle sights, tho I'd usually just sight down the cantilevered scope base. I had mine set up for 3Gun with the bigger charging handle, C-Rums feed ramp mod & a few other go fast parts.

My son & I really enjoyed going to the range with a coupla cheapo wallymart 100 rd boxes of Winchester low base. Would burn through a box in 10 minutes easy.

Very fast. Could put all 9 down range before the first husk hit the floor.

Maybe 1 or 2 extraction jams outa the thousand or so rounds I put thru it.
Only 2 negatives I could find with it were:
-It was heavy due to its extremely rugged construction. The upside to this was it was an extremely soft shooter.
-User serviceable pistons. I'd like to see the pistons easier to disassemble for cleaning. They never caused me a problem, but I could see carbon deposits building up in the nooks & crannies i couldnt get to, and this could eventually become an issue.

Otherwise it was a great weapon

I like my SLP for 3 Gun, but the damn lifter tears up my thumb when I don't pay attention. I have yet to find the time to take the TIG machine to it.

Rather than what everyone else has said so far, my SLP has a very short LOP for me, but then again, you can guess by my U/O that I need a longer LOP.
