Father's Day gift for my old man

He hasn't seen it yet, but I did this duracoat job on one of his 870s. It's solely a waterfowl gun.

I caught him checking out my duracoat job I did on my turkey gun and asked me if I would paint one of his 870s. So I commandeered the gun for a couple of weeks to fix some issues with it and get the paint job done.

Let me know what you think!

          You do nice work.

He should be proud to carry that shotgun.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

The majority of the project is prepping the wood and metal. Then I sprayed about 3 coats of the base color (about 3.5oz of duracoat). After that, I used a mesh material to get the snake skin texture. Finally, I cut stencils out of card stock and sprayed the stripes. I've done other jobs where Iv made oak leaf stencils. It's only limited to your creativity there are also a ton of duracoat paint job tutorials online.
