The M1 and I go back a long way. It is the lightest, most reliable (in a stable configuration), fastest, and most accurate shotgun there is for me.

With my 7mag model, I have personally did the "all shells in air before first hits the ground" test at Angeles range. This was in November of last year on the skeet bench, and yes, I did get yelled at.

I have also been able to hit the 200 yard pig repeatedly using brenneke KO rifled slugs at that same range.

Finally, I put seven different rounds in the tube:

    1. Federal Tactical LE 00 Low Recoil
    2. Winchester Ranger LE 00 Low Recoil
    3. Estate Birdshot #8
    4. Fiocchi #4 Buck
    5. Brenneke KO Slug
    6. Optima #7 Express
    7. Charles Daly #8
    8. Wolf 00 Buck

All ran perfectly, and completely obliterated the paper target at 7 yards. There was a single ragged hole about 2 feet in diameter at the end.

Note that the LE LR rounds were placed at the end of the tube and so by the time they cycled the shotgun was much lighter. I have not tried 7+1 of LR to see if it will cycle... in my other M1, which is the 5mag model, 5+1 ran flawlessly with LR rounds.

I personally do not like LR rounds as I find them to be of little benefit. I currently run #4 Fiocchi plated buck in my shotguns. I do not feel undergunned with each shell putting out 24 5.56 diameter pellets.

I totally love my M3, it's the only shotgun I ever wanted.

I do like the pump mode, it's fun for shooting those little aguila mini slugs.
