Winchester 97

Winchester 97 12 ga. Late 40s production. Take down model. A fun gun! Just picked it up a couple of weeks ago and tried it on clay birds. The previous owner had a removable choke tube installed on it and with a modified choke it not only dusts the clays but also puts a lot of 00 buck on the target at 35 yds. The tube holds six rounds plus one in the chamber you can put a lot of lead down range.

Do these have a slamfire feature like the ChiCom ones?

I hate how they call it a slam-fire feature, it makes me think of a malfunctioning SKS.

To be more correct, the gun lacks a diconnector
As does the later and slicker Winchester model 12.

I recently saw one of these in original trench gun form sitting on a little bridies shelf for sale... Might have to go look again and see what he wants...
