Thinking about a 930 JM pro or SPX

Been wanting an auto-loader for awhile - the only shotgun i have experience with is a side-by-side, and right now it seems like 12Ga is the only ammo you can find.

I like the price of the Mossberg 930 and have heard decent things and am looking for the JM pro or the SPX. Any major advantage to one or the other? At this point it is whatever i find first.

Any other auto-loaders i should be looking at?

Pro has better internals and lots of goodies. Id get it over the spx if the prices are similar. Pro can be hard to find in norcal.

My only advice is if your thinking of installing a side saddle shell holder, beware products that replace the trigger group pins to secure it, sometimes can cause reliability issues. I experience this first hand and decided it was not worth fussing with and went to Velcro solutions.

        930 JM Pro

I recently won, paid to much, an auction on Gunbroker.com for (2) JM Pro's

I would gladly pay all over again,,,great weapon!!!

If you purchase online out of state they can ship direct to your FFL in your area. You will be responsible for sales tax and your FFL transfer fee's.

        Good Luck!!

btw I have both. the pro cycles smoother and can take chokes as well as all the upgrades that come stock. just more to factor into your decision making. if you can find them. also check out the rhythm if you dont mind the terrible furniture color.

I have a regular SPX. Only thing it won't shoot is no name/low quality ammo (Tula 12g) was the only thing it had FTE's with. All other name brand low recoil, ect ran flawless durring its first time out to the range.

i bought the pro, a month later bought the versamax, ended up selling the JM Pro.

i liked the pro for the longer barrel but ended up selling it to a guy out of state.

i had a few issues with it feeding walmart shot when but never got more than 200 round through it before getting the versamax.

versamax is freaking wonderful. super nice. but twice the price.

i ended up buying the pro a 2nd time for my wife who for some reason just preferred the pro over the VM.

the pro has a really meaty feel to it and handles superb.

I did handle a versa max momentarily and it seemed nice - a little out of my price range through.
