I got mine last October for under $300. Can't remember the exact price, but I don't think I've seen it below $300 since then.

Also, FYI the Big 5 Mossberg 500s are built a little differently than the "normal" 500s. Customization will be tougher regarding the forend.

I just checked the combo out at my local Big5. The 28" field barrel doesn't have a threaded choke.

The only difference between the combo and the normal Mossberg 500 is that the charging handle is built into the forend, I just ended up buying another charging handle to fit my custom forend.

I just bought the 500A Security, is that the same? I havent tried to take my fore-end off yet.

This is the mossy I got straight from the mossberg factory about one years ago. The new handguards are a little tough to get off. But totally do able, just may not be able to re-use the original fore-end.

The last few 500 combo kits I bought at big5 were under $200 each. Obviously, it has been about ten years.
