Piecing together Deerfield

I have this old cheap 20guage. I think Noble made them for Wards. Been in pieces since I can remember. 672X
A few questions....

First, it has a aluminum receiver side plate. Basically the whole right side.
Does Aluminum Black work on this big of a part or should I look into another way to make it black? Just not sure if that stuff is for touch up or staining an entire part.

It also needs the tube to barrel clamp. Any ideas where to get something like that without going to a tactical looking piece?

I'm thinking it's going to be a good buy "back" gun Not even worth a wall hanger.

If you already own it, its probably worth fixing. Maybe not a top notch gun, but likely will be fully reliable if you repair it. Maybe make it a backup home defense gun, or set it up for a Jr shooter and take a kid shooting? The current Dros fees, and hassles, and the current political environment makes any gun you currently own worth making operational in my opinion.
