Got one from my Uncle. 1901 Pat Date. Pretty worn out.
I noticed the firing pin will slide back and forth by tipping the gun up and down in the closed position. Pretty sure with the amount it moves it would take the hammer to set off the primer...but....Normal or now a wall hanger and don't chance it?
I also notice the pin sticks out just a bit, but can't see anyway it would retract on it's own without having the barrel shove it back when closing.
In other words: Without a exploded diagram, not sure if there is a retract spring for the firing pin.
