    Winchester model 120 any good?

Hey guys I was passed down a pretty much brand new 120 12 ga. I was told its only been shot about 10 times. The slide assembly has no wear marks and the gun looks like it came out of the box yesterday.

1200/1300/120 all basic K mart guns. I bought a 2nd hand high round count 1200 and it still going bang everytime. 1200/1300 Stocks & barrels should work. Go out & enjoy her

they are neat guns not as many aftermarket stuff like the rem870 and moss500 but i would call it third in line after them i like the rotating bolt lockup

I just Googled the model 120 as your post peaked my interest. Looks like the 120 was only manufactured a couple of years in the mid 80's. It appears it was the predecessor to the 1200. The info I read stated that the 120 will except 1200 barrels, but not the 1300 barrels, due to the magazine length difference with the 1300. Seems its not listed in a lot of gun value books, and there is little info out there due to its very short production run. I would attempt to verify the compatibility of the barrel with the 1200 barrel, then watch ebay or GB for a short Home Defense barrel. My guess is its probably a decent shotgun, as the 1200 and 1300 are well made guns. Good luck!

You may want to review this post for barrel fitting info.

wweigle is not correct (due respect given) about the barrels fitting the different models (120, 1200, & 1300). All same shot magazine length barrels will fit each other (5 shot, 7 shot, & 8 shot), so any 5 shot barrel will fit any other 5 shot barrel of any model. There are factory adaptors as well, but they are hens teeth to find typically.

There are still many accessories out there, but they are third in line behind Remington and Mossberg (and falling). Ebay, others have accessories all day long, local shop not so much. Try Midwest here for factory parts.

The 120 was the budget/chain store version of the 1200, same gun, finish and wood were cheaper.

              Great gun.

              Enjoy,
              Criss

Yep, Looks like I put my foot in my mouth on this one. I guess I should look a little further into it before I start quoting information I find on the web. I did a quick look at one site that had the, which appears is incorrect, barrel info I posted. Glad I was wrong, looks like you should have lots of barrel options, and have no problem finding a second barrel for a reasonable cost. Good Luck!
