    recommend a replacement butt pad

i need to add another 1.5" to 1.75" on a browning silver midas micro butt pad. i have a limb saver that can help out but remembering how i started with the limb saver, it was a pita to use (kept on slipping).

anyway I can just replace the pad with a thicker one that probaby is like 3.5" thick? been looking at brownells and midway. can't seem to find a thick one. i talked to graco and they don't recommend the recoil system they have that has adjustability since there's not enough space in the back to install. and it'll only give me 1" but i need at 1.5" to 1.75"

was thinking kickeez slip-on but not sure how well those hold up.

What kind of shotgun are you shooting? I believe Limbsaver makes a mounted 2 inch LOP increase pad which can easily be ground down to 1.75".

If you wanted to try the slip ons, I have heard great things about the Pachmayr Decelerator Slip On Recoil Pads.

I am not sure what you are shooting, but for most traditional shotguns, the small size works great.

shooting the browning silver midas micro as mentioned. i need to add another 1.5-1.75" but i am figuring if replacing the entire butt pad for a thicker one is the better route?

Make a spacer out of wood. Most pads aren't that thick.

          ><

Use a spacer between the stock and the pad

how's the kickeez stuff? i was thinking of the slip-on with some inserts. i shot the 20ga last night and used my shoulder limbsaver thingie. even just that 1/2" (or so) helped a lot. i didn't look uber-stupid out there with the 20ga finally. (i can't buy a shot when i use the 20ga.. probably only shoot like a 10-12 and go to a 19-21 with the beretta).

i don't think i adjusted how i look down or aim much (floated it all vs. w/o the limbsaver before, i'd even cover and can't do squat with it). i was thinking the kickeez because i can easily pull the sleeve out if/when the SO wants to shoot it. the only thing kickeez tech guy warnmed me if that the inserts (need like 2 or 3 max) can potentially shift.

yeah.. i used my limbsaver the other night (the one over your shoulder) and definitely, i shot better and didn't look completely stupid out there.

now i just need to do it right and do the spacers knowing it's such a big game changer. i hit high teens earlier in the week. hope it gets to a point i can view the bird as easily (and instinctively) as my al391. felt some areas i had to cover vs. float it. i usually only hit like 12 (15 tops) the previous 2 times i shot it. just shooting it so it gets used and not a safe queen since it's the SO's.
