Benelli M4 Issue

Finally got the chance to take out my new M4, only took 5 months. Well I was less than happy with the results. I had several FTF and FTE's. It seems like it is short stroking.

Did I: A) not lube it well enough upon assembly or B) the ammo used is not strong enough to cycle(using estate target 2 3/4").

Any M4 owners have some insight to my issue??

M4s need to be tight in the shoulder when firing birdshot and low recoil loads.

Many of the semi auto like to run on full power ammo and may hiccup when you try to short change them.

They also like to be ran wet.

Try ruining some regular power 3 3/4 gr stuff through it during break in.

You did clean it and lube it before you took it out...right? If not, break her down and give her a good cleaning and lube job.

After it breaks in, you'll get less FTF"S and FTE"S and you may have more success i running the lower power smmo.

The only ammo I now have problems with is the AA Winchester, but I have never ran Estate.

My M4 eats anything. I've run the Estate 7.5 birdshot without any particular care to how I shouldered the gun. My M1 is a completely different story. My M4 is loaded down with a bunch of tacticool crap as well. It's just a beast. Sorry can't help you solve your problem...can just confirm that it does sound like you have one.

I am about to break it down in a few to inspect. I was clean and lubed to the benelli owners manuals specs. I always hug the gun tight to my shoulder due to a hard lesson learning lesson with my 1909 A5

I too have no zero feeding issues with my Benelli since the day i bought it. Shot everything from low recoil birdshot to 1oz full load slugs all in the same tube in one shooting string. I was testing to see if it would choke on any particular ammo so i mixed and matched different brands and types in the tube...all went bang, ejected, loaded the next round.

Only thing I can think of is checking the Argo Gas pistons for any damage or mis-alignment... ??

Well, I didn't see anything that stood out. It is clean and thoroughly lubed again. My A5 reference is related to it nearly breaking my collar bone due to not keeping it snug. Those old beasts don't have butt pads...

The first time I shot my M4 the Winchester 8 shot target stuff was jamming. I switched to Federal and never had a problem. I have shot more Winchester after it was broken in and it shot fine.
