Just bought my first shotgun... Advice please...

Hello everyone.... Just picked up a Mossberg 500 combo. Super excited. I want to go tactical with it and use a Magpul MOE stock. I like the way this one looks...

Anyone know the best place to get this stuff? http://youtu.be/pmbj3D4ySEY

Lots of vendors sell the magpul stock and forend I'm sure you can find it on amazon or eBay or any place else that sells shotgun accessories. Good first shotgun!

Save your money and don't buy a bunch of accessories. Better to spend that money initially on training classes.
RIP Louis Awerbuck. I miss you and your training.

The first accessory that you should really consider if this is your HD gun is a mount and a flash light. Don't skimp out on either.

After that, yeah, put that stock/grip/forearm if you have the funds.

Lights aren't really a super priority for a home defense shotgun and it turns your night vision into crap imo. Be sure to get some night lights for the main rooms I use two between my room and the front door and they provide more than enough light to see an enemy. Chances are if you're going to use it in a defense situation you are going to be close enough to see your adversary. Not like you're going to be clearing your house with a 20" shotgun and if you are... well you get my drift lol.

Really your priorities should be a comfortable stock and forend. Personally I think a Hogue forend and any stock that has a full stock + a pistol grip is a good start. If you're going to add a side saddle you will need a shorter forend I' am not sure the Magpuls are short enough but I' am sure someone that has one could chime in about that. I would aslo suggest a sling plate and a sling. Most people using Shotties for home defense.. keep it simple

this, although i don't run a sling, yet. i run a hogue forend after trying several, and a choate pistol-grip buttstock, which is very comfortable. it also has spacers you can add or remove to adjust length of pull. i've had it on for a few years now and done some very rapid fire, with no loosening. the hogue forend did require some fitting but your experience may vary. i have a winchester defender which is a bit harder to find stuff for so you should be good with the mossy.

                  Get some training

                  Master your weapon

Keep ur gun stock. Dont try to be tacticool

You dont need all the crap. Lights and lasers only helps bad guns determine your location and point of aim.

These tacticool accessories makes you and your shotguns look silly...like adjustable stock etc..

Have you seen guys in competition use all the crap?

*Just my opinion....for all you sensitive folks...like people who trip out when you dont do a safety check on youtube videos

I went simple with my shotgun it's a Remington clone but the parts are pretty easy to get in Mossy..It's probably similar to what most people run for HD. You can't see the sling plate and sling but I run that during drills and classes. I like the Stock + Pistol grip for controllability and ease of reloading. I load it with the gun upside down and Butstock on my shoulder. The loading gates in a perfect spot to reload like that.

                        Buy bullets.
                        .
Get several hundred rounds through the pipe -

Being a great shotgunner is your greatest tactical advantage.
+1 to master your weapon, good fit, train, be safe, enjoy.

Go out on your deck and fire a couple of warning shots!

Just shoot thru the front door!

just remember some of the combo mossbergs dont have removable forends. if you want to change it you will need a new slide tube.

...just buy some bullets and shoot the damn gun.
