    Barrel Help for a Dummy....

I bought this longer barrel from a member here on the forum. It is for my Winchester Defender 12 gauge. The shorter barrel has a knob or nut that holds it on (First Pic). However when I install the longer barrel the nut will not go down far enough to hold the barrel down (2nd Pic). Is there a spacer or something that goes on under the nut? Sorry if this is dumb but what am I missing? Thanks guys.

The Defender was not built for hunting, thus the longer magazine tube. By placing the barrel ring closer to the end of the magazine tube there is more support for the mag tube.

The extra barrel you purchased is built for the hunting style gun, where 3 rounds is the usual norm.

I know of no conversion made to do what you are wanting. Though I have seen a "conversion" made which is a tube placed over the existing mag tube, and the appropriate length.

As per Swifty's post ................your new barrel is for a standard 1200/1300 shotgun, not the defender model. From what I have read; the only barrel made for a defender model is what came with your shotgun.
Might be time for a second shotgun.................which is not a bad thing as I see it?
