9 days away from my new 870

Just bought a brand spanking new Remington 870 Express. Boy have gun prices increased!

I was really looking for an older police shotgun but never did find one so I'm going to turn this one kind of into one.

First I'm going to replace those aweful looking plastic grips and stock. Then I'm going to look for a real metal trigger guard.

Why is every gun plastic now? What happed to metal and wood?

Then I think I'll have a good looking home defense shotgun. Anyone do anything similar?

I'm partial to the polymer stocks.

For home defense, why do you feel the need for a metal trigger plate?

Spend the money on ammo and put some rounds through it to ensure it is reliable.

I just like natural wood and metal. Not a fan of plastic guns or gun parts. When I was 12 I bought a ruger 10/22 and returned it the same day because the trigger guard was plastic and so was the sight. I returned to my trusty 70 year old all wood and metal 22 Springfield, so it's not a new thing with me.

Maybe plastic great and light weight and just the cats pajamas, but I just don't want it. Plus, I think that metal and wood guns looks so much better than all black metal and plastic ones.
