I was talking to the Benelli rep at the Int. Sportsman, Expos. last month. He said they should be out the 3rd quarter of this year.

I have the Benneli Nova, not the Super Nova. Its really nice and light weight. I have had it for a few weeks now and have been really impressed with it. The recoil is not that bad, but I am a big guy at over 6 feet and 250 pounds. I would recommend it

What are the main differences between the supernova and nova?

The Super Nova has the Comfort Tech stock. It helps reduce recoil evenly through the stock. My friend has a SBEII and it helps I think. But I'm old school and I like the recoil. The price difference is about $90-100. I don't know if its worth it, maybe if you plan to shoot a lot of slugs or 3 1/2" rounds

The tactical version is also supposed to have a pistol grip.

There is also supposed to be an available telescoping stock coming later. I believe the stock options and the revised trigger guard are the only differences between the Super Novas and the Novas. There was rumors early on about Crio treated Barells but that didn't come to pass. I'm waiting on the tacticals to be available for a pistol grip version.

I do not like the ribbing on the forend of my Nova. After about 100 rounds it started to really hurt my hand from rubbing the skin. I have rough hands so I dont think it was just me.

                  The receiver looks different.

They had to re-engineer the reciever to allow changeable stocks. The regular Novas are all one piece stock and reciever.

Why doesn't Surefire make a forend for the nova/supernova? I hate the weird looking forend.

I just bought the Benelli Super Nova 12guage, with the comfort tech stock. It's a great gun, I love it! Shooting 2 3/4 shells is smooth and easy on the shoulder, the 3 1/2 00BUCK Magnum shells is a little tough on the shoulder, but still for being 00buck shot, it has a great recoil. Definately recomended!

Because of the mag disconnect feature integrated into the forearm. Too much liability and it may compromise reliability.
