xs ghost ring on 870

wondering if anyone swapped out the xs ghost ring with rail section that comes from the factory on the 870 tactical, i like the sights but really have no need for the rail section, i'm thinking of putting the lpa winged sight on the rear and was wanting to know if anyone has done this swap
