I put a Choate mag extension on my wife's shotgun and the plastic follower that it came with kept jamming in the mag tube throat. The diameter was too small so it would jam in there really bad. Especially since the softer plastic deforms. I went back to the stock aluminum follower and all was well. It was my first experience with a plastic follower and it will be my last.

      Gun Scrubber....... eats some plastics...

During a 4 day shotgun class, day two had a slow start for a student.

He had used Gun Scrubber on his shotgun after day 1. The gun scrubber softened the blaze orange magazine follower....

When he loaded the tube, the pressure of the shells against the spring caused the follower to expand and cause a stoppage.

The concept of the orange follower is fine... whoever came up with a plastic that is melted / softened by a common gun cleaning chemical is.... not a nice person....
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

+1 for the GG&G follower for the reasons stated above (hole to check in no light; anodized red for quick ID in mag tube; etc. More solid than the cheap-o bottle cap follower that came with my 590A1.

The follower has one function and that is to prevent the magazine spring from coming into the receiver after the last round is out of the tube. That is it. All the hype about followers is marketing to get your money. The OEM follower in Remington shotguns works perfectly. I use Wilson Combat Tube Extensions and their follower works perfectly with thier tube extension. If you just have to spend money for no reason their are plenty of Delta Farce Elite Commado shotgun followers out there.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

WC/scattergun uses a self lubricating high viz follower on 870's. supposed to be like the WC 1911 followers but in high contrast colors.
