    Nordic +2 issue

You guys having issues with your tubes?

I popped out my cap on my 930 combo to iinstall the NC tube and it goes on fine.. But wont feed the first round.. I have to hit the bolt release and it releases 2 into the receiver not one..

And If I just rack it back on the first shell sometimes it wont feed a round at all..

I started at 20" extra spring and am down to about 10" which the paper said dont go under 12".. But the shorter I got it the better it worked but still isn't 100%..

It actually functions better with the factory combo 10" spring.. Anyone having this issue or can help??

Im lost on why its not feeding right. I know the spring is the issue but I dont know why.

I'm not. Did you remove the tube again and check for any burr inside that might snag the spring? Tube went on perfectly straight? Stock follower? NC follower?

And no I havnt looked for any burs yet.. I was up till 3 am tinkering with it.. Like I said after I got it about 11" it started working but when I open the bolt to load a shell none eject half the time unless I rack the **** out of it.

After I finally get the first to eject from the tube it functions great. Since it works fine with the factory spring 10/10 times I know its a simple spring issue if anything. Idk why the nordic spring wouldnt eject the first shell tho..

And factory follower. And yea tube seemed good to go. Ill inspect for burrs

Oh you're working with a mossberg. It appears that it functions differently than my shotgun. Sorry I dont think I can help. My shotgun wont rack and load i have to throw one down the chamber.

Ok so I put the original spring that came with the 930 which is way less powerful and about 3" shorter than my Nordic spring thats 10" past the ext tube.. Install instructions recommended never go below 12" past tube..

But 20 of 20 times same cycle test not a single issue.. Again im completely stumped why the stronger longer spring isn't feeding the first of the 7 rounds.. But the shorter tube made for a 4+1 is feeding better in the 7+1 configuration than the spring for 7+1...

So bringing me to assume its the spring.. Why?! Thats where I'm baffled..

The manual says to load the first round in the chamber. I don't think the 930 is designed to load the first round from the tube.
I just shot mine today and was having the same trouble you are with the gun all stock. Then I switched to loading first round in the chamber and it ran just fine. On all types of loads.
After getting home from shooting it. I took a look in the owners manual and sure enough it says to load first round in chamber then proceed to load the tube. Going to go out a little later today and see how the nordic extension works and shoots as I just I stalled that. Got a GG&G bolt handle installed on it too. The new handle has a tighter fit then the stock one and I think is a big improvement.

O and how is the trigger guard/group fit on your gun? Mine seems real loose, but the gun shoots just fine. Probably just going to have to live with the fit.

Mine fits pretty snug. Not 1911 tight but its solid. The fit and finish is pretty good the only issue I'm having is that 7th round wanting to come out..

So you load the first in chamber then load the 7? Or is it only a 6+1?

My 930 does fine with the original spring in the standard config and Nordic tube installed. There is a small lip where the tube connects to the factory tube I thought maybe the follow might be getting stuck on with the 7 pushing it last that.. But again the factory lighter spring has no issues with what ever I do with it.

This. load one in the chamber, then load your mag tube.

So doing this will allow me to add the 7th after the chamber is loaded then feed?

What mechanism is effected doin this do you guys know? I'm just wondering how that different from me pulling on the CH. only thing I can think of the gun knowing there is a shell from me pulling back is the extractor.

I can't wait to get home and try this.. Also what page of the user manual states this? I have it a quick look over and missed this.

From what I've read on BrianEnos.com forums and my own experience, the spring is only part of the problem.

Where the extension meets the factory tube, the factory tube will have to be stoned and polished for a better chamfer to match the extension.

And part of the reason why a shorter spring is working for you is because it has less tension on the shell latch. Increased tension on the shell latch from a stronger/longer spring will make hand cycling more difficult. However, though you've now made hand cycling easier you may run into feeding issues if you were to shoot at match action speed. Another thing some people do besides cutting the spring is polishing and grinding the shell latch again at the cost of reliability. Ultimately, the best solution found by gunsmith Benny Hill of Triangle Shooting Sports is the one I described which involve a mag tube modification.

If the shorter spring is working for you make sure you try shooting rapid fire to see if you run into any cycling/feeding issues.

What happens when the mag spring is cut to short. The timing is off balance. The mag spring cannot keep pace with the action,= feeding problems. Get a replacment magspring or 2 start over.

I have a +3 NC ext. on my SLP, trimmed my spring to around 12". No issues.

                          Good Luck

Yea I think I'm going to snag out my caliper and see what the difference is and maybe polish that off my self.
