Thoughts and/or opinions on CZ 712 Target?

I think my next gun is going to be a Beretta XCEL 32" Parallel before the 2014 fun happens. I've got a list for this year, but we'll see how it goes.

Yeah I've been working on my list a while. CT ruined my chances of buying a sig 556. I'm down to my last three. If I can save more though 912is up there. Sucks I have to move to buy anything after this year.

Picked up my 712 Target last night. I will post pictures when I can and hope to shoot a couple rounds of trap Wednesday night.

Well, I got the 712 target In today from buds and it was pretty bad. There were two cracks, one on each side of the grip from the receiver back, and the wood just looked and felt cheap cheap cheap. I am going to get a refund and go with a remington 1100 competition, or beretta a400 parallel target and buck up and drop the extra coin. Definitely disappointed in their shotguns.

Sucks to hear. Picked up my 712 utility today, great looking shotgun. Good feel, recoil pad is a bit thin. Will be cleaning up the action and possibly opening up the feed area a bit.

I still have not shot mine yet. Life has gotten in the way and I have not shot anything for over a month. Hopefully soon.

I am thinking about the standard 712 as I was thinking about using it for sporting clays and skeet, thinking that the 28" might be better than the 30" Target for that, and then try it for trap or continue to use my 30" Wingmaster Trap for that. It is also about $150 less.

What do you think of the finish on the 712? It reminds me of what was on my RIA 1911 Tactical. That is one of my biggest turnoffs of this gun.

I really like the video on the CZ site for the 712. Reminds me of videos of people shooting ground squirrels.

Its a utilitarian finish for a truck gun. It doesn't bother me in the least.

Hell, I didn't think the finish was half bad on mine. Just as good as my mossberg, but I know that ain't setting the bar very high.
