Mossberg 930 JM PRO SERIES
Tags: None -
I shot mine straight from the box with federal target, remington gun club and some 30 year old( im not exaggerating) winchester, along with some xm 127 buck and had no problems. I think the reports of issues with this shotgun are exaggerated by the interwebs, there are multiple threads of break in range days with no issues. Mine is going out again monday so we will see round oneI support peace through superior firepower.

I got my JM pro series 24" four days ago but I haven't tried it yet. I bought a snap cap and there are times that when I pulled the lever the snap caps wont budge out the chamber. I dunno if its gonna happen with the real one. hope not. (fingers crossed).Comment

Yea it's starting to become another forum urban legend..
I've probably talked to 23 or more guys that have 930s (black waters,JMs,SPX old and new) and only anout 4 of those guys had cycle issues. 1 guy was missing a part (assuming shady gun shop) other guy had issues with low and like you said after buck it eats anything and one had to send his back to mossberg because of Choate tube hanging up fixed after that and another had the first bird shot shell hang up then after that a full box of bulk 100 federal bird shot just fine.
So to me it seems like the gun runs just fine aside from a few lemons that become web infamous and then people call the whole line junk to justify their other brand that is either head to head competitors with it or one that they paid 2x as much and it does the same job and don't like the new kid on the block taking their shine away from their baby.
But I'm still yet to be fully swaded till I get my hands on mine to FULLY say for my self.Comment

I keep hearing as long as its 1200 fps and above there should b no problem. A good cleaning and lubing of parts goes a long way as wellComment

True I head 1200 fps and above good to goComment

I finally shot that bad boy today. OH MY! Arguably one of the best shotguns I've ever shot. Even my buddy who brought his 870 was super jealousComment

I just bought a brand new 930 spx (non pistol grip) a few weeks ago. It had alot of cycling issues with "spartan ammo" which is made by Tula (1200fps 00 buck) Not sure why but the shell only ejected half way out of the chamber and then caused a double feed. Almost like the ejector want grabbing the casing good enough and it slipped off (maybe the shell was a lil smaller spec on the brass rim?)
With name brand stuff. (All Winchester) it shot low recoil 00, military 00, and standard 00 flawless.
So I guess you can say its finicky if its not high quality name brand.Last edited by xxINKxx; 05-03-2013, 7:03 AM."If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so." - Thomas JeffersonComment
