What tactical stock do you have?

I've got a new Remington 870 Express Tactical 12ga 18" and I'm looking to change the stock, I would like to know your opinion. I've back ordered the Mesa Tactical LEO Telescoping Stock Kit. I'm 5.6 with short arms and not interested in recoil reducing. It will be used for home defense and practice only.

    Thanks

What is a tactical stock exactly?

    Heres my "tactical" timeline

    Then I tried the PG

    Then back to

Sold it and now my second 870 was set up like this

Sold that barrel and kept that as trap and now my 930 in DROS is set up like

When I'm done should be around this

I owned a Knoxx stock for a bit didnt like the feel. IMO PG's dont belong on SG/Precision rifles.. At least for me Ive shot a few and dont like them. I didnt get to use the actually knoxx but my buddy and a few others have stated it kicks in the face if you dont hold it properly. But I prefer the original style grip for my long range rifles/shot guns.. AR's/AK's I love PGs.

I have an 870 express tactical. Mine has the stock it came with. Maybe put a Burris fastfire and a flashlight on it and you're done.

Why people put a pistol grip on an 870 or mossberg 590 eludes me... The controls were not designed for use with a pistol grip and there's a reason why many tactical stocks like the Magpul SGA do NOT have pistol grips... You lose a lot of functionality with a pistol grip.

The ONLY reason to have a pistol grip on a shotgun is when it's the only grip and the gun is meant to be a trunk gun or fired from the hip in a small home.

I run a regular rifle style stock on mine. I'm 5' 6" as well and I think it feels just fine no need for a pistol grip for me.

Knoxx stock on my 870. Does kick when not holding it right but it is what it is.
