entry level trap shotgun for $750 ??

I am looking for a O/U shotgun for around $750 or lower to shoot trap. For fun only. My godson got a Mossberg reserve 2. Looks good and works great . BUT. I have no luck with Mossberg.
Mossberg 9200 jammed a lot. Now I have a Mossberg MVP varmint and the mag falls out when you try to chamber another round. Lol. Tried getting threw to Mossberg for two months and have gotten nowhere. Can you guys recommend a different brand O/U.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

I did a quick Google search. a lot of people recommended the Cz redhead and a planner 2097. I can vouch for neither but I figured it'd give you something to research. you could consider a semi auto as well.

Lanber 2087 or 2097. Spanish made. Buy it from CDNN Sports.

You can get a 2097 Sporting Lux w/28" barrels, 5 chokes, mid-rib and other quality components for $699 and $649 for a blem. The 2087 is $599. The difference is the 2097 is a steel receiver and the 2087 is lightweight alloy. If you don't mind fixed chokes, you can get other models for even less.

Lanber's are the best selling shotguns in the UK if that means anything to you.

Call CDNN and ask them what they have. Do some research on Lanber O/U's. You'll see they're a quality shotgun at a nice price. Better than Mossbergs or other Huglu/Turkey made guns. And the company is in business and offers US warranty service.

Here's one review to get you started -

i have plenty of semi auto rifles and pistols. thought a O/U would be a nice piece to add to the collection. i was going to just get a longer barrel for my rem 870, but i got the itch now for a O/U.
            thanks for the tip guys.

No really good over/unders are in the $750 dollar range... For that much money take a look at the Browning BPS Trap... Street price will be around $700...

Remington 1100 Trap used. Hard to beat one of those for the price. Use it to shoot singles and doubles too. Hard to shoot doubles IMO with a pump gun.

Heck, I am selling my beretta AL391 with a gob of extras for 750 on the nose right now. I did pretty well with it for trap.

When I was shooting trap in a league, I was very happy with a Remington 1100 Trap. Soft shooting and very reliable. When I switched to 3Gun, I moved to the Benelli M2 field because that's what all the cool kids had.

Didn't Browning make a single barrel led trap gun called the B99 or something. I recall that het were pretty reasonably priced.

(yes, I know that the OPasked about an O/U)

It is called a BT99, and is an excellent choice, however it is a single barreled gun.

Which is perfect for American trap, but not so awesome for most other clay games.

I think tripple b has some decent Brownings, winchesters in their shop around $850. Look to be ok. Also a O/U noob with an itch.

Been rocking the 870 till I get through my list of others I "must have". O/U is a little lower on the list.
