I revisted the pistol grip only shotgun

A long time ago I had bought a Maverick 88 with a Mossberg factory pistol grip installed. It was my first shotgun and it looked cool. The first time I shot it was the last time; I replaced it immediately with a standard stock. It destroyed my will to own a PGO shotgun, just brutal to shoot. That was years ago.

Fast forward to recent times when I noticed another forum member had posted a review of the raptor pistol grip for the Mossberg series pump shotguns. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=638517

i have the same setup on my remington 870 wingmater, and love it, i can shoot 2 3/4 slugs all day out of it. By the way, this pistol grip is a speed pistol grip.

That grip looks alot more comfortable to shoot then the standard PGO.It angles your wrist so you don't feel the recoil as much.It is almost like shooting a full stock gun from the hip the way it is held. The old PGO were brutal to shoot.

Ease of shooting is the reason why my Wilson Arms WP870 (AOW) has the same style of grip installed:

Its original grip and forearm were made of wood. The current grip is made by Speedfeed and has the same shape and contour of the original, and the current forearm is made by Choate and is much lower profile.

It was no more than 10 to 15 yards.

As far as HD. I will pass on that with this shotgun. I am sure its more than capable but I have a dedicated Mossberg for that. A Mossberg 500 with 18.5" barrel, Hogue stock (good recoil pad on it) and a shell holder on the stock. I prefer to have a stock on my shotguns, this was a why not shotgun to see how I liked it.

Now Lunde and his 870. Thats a nice shotgun if you go PGO.
