Anyone own or try the Benelli Vinci?

I'm starting to save up for a nice duck gun for the 2013 season later this year. Been thinking of the Vinci, any opinions on this shotty?

Nice gun but when I compared the two...The Beretta A400 Xtreme felt better and swung smoother in my hands.

I own the super Vinci and I love it. Best shotgun I've sever shot. Smooth, light. Even cycled light target trap loads out of the box.

The Benelli Vinci is a very fine shotgun. Please don't call it a "shotty".

I had a beretta Xtrema but lugging around over 8 pounds of gun became less appealing after two knee surgeries... I'm liking the fact that the 3" Vinci weighs in under 7 lbs. My plan is to have a lighter gun, lose the plastic decoys, and just stuff 8 or 10 inflatable decoys in my jacket so I can move around effortlessly all day.

I agree, hence why I have a A400 Xtreme, but one of my shooting crew rocks a Vinci for sporting clays, good gun, but I'm not a fan of the looks/chassis

The Super Sport is a completely different gun than the Vinci. Not to mention, the $1,850 price tag is a LOT for a gun that is going to be used in a duck blind.

Do you want to shoot 3 1/2" shells? If yes, try to shoot both so you get an idea of recoil from a gas gun versus an inertia gun. Big difference with magnum type shells.

I've been using a Vinci since the 2009/10 season and it's been nearly flawless. I say nearly because in 2010 I had some problems with feeding 2 3/4" sporting loads (Estate #8's), I'm not sure if it was ammo or just because I had shot about 1000 rounds over 3 days and didn't give it a "through" cleaning each night. I'm tending to think it was ammo though because it would eat Remmington, Fiocchi, Rio, Winchester, etc. w/o any issues.

One other thing to think about is the location of the safety being at the front of the trigger guard vs. the rear. A few of my buddies hate the feeling of the Vinci because they just can't get used to that and the feeling/shape of the forearm. Guess its a good thing its not their shotgun...

I can't speak to the Super Vinci as I've never fondled one, but if I had to replace my duck gun I don't think I'd go with anything other than the original Vinci. If I'm gonna beat my shoulder w/ a 3 1/2" shell I'll grab a 10g. Good luck with what ever you end up with.

Don't get confused b/c there is a Vinci Supersport and a normal Supersport

I was not aware Benelli had a Vinci supersport. Goes to show you how much of a Benelli fan I am. I can't believe the Vinci supersport has an MSRP close to a nice over/under.

No matter what, I would never use a supersport in the duckblind. Way too nice of a gun to beat up in the blind.
