Well, I did it.

Went down tonight for the 4th time to check in on the search for a mossberg 500 combo. No dice. He had a Mossberg 500 in stock 28" barrel, wood stock and fore-end, and gold trigger.


It listed for 379, but he felt so bad about not being able to get something that I want, he knocked the price down 50 bucks for me!!!

He said at that price I should be able to find some black stocks/fore-ends, and another barrel for close to the same price as what I would have spent driving 160 miles twice to the nearest store with one in stock. And I shopped local.

After the 100 dollar gift certificate, the 140 bucks cash i've put aside toward the gun, and the 50 bucks off he gave me, it didn't make much of a dent in my wallet.




Now can someone please direct me to the best place online to buy some accessories for this thing?

Throw a light on it and you're go to go...

You have your long barrel for some trap/skeet and a HD barrel for close in work.

Put a side saddle on it, get a belt to hold your reserve ammo.

Maybe a sling if you plan on carrying it any distance. I avoid the slings with ammo loops. Just makes the whole package slower and heavier.

Here's something to think about - learn from my lack of forethought.

is nearly $200 shipped. I should have spent less and just got the 18.5 inch barrel.

For under $400, you could get another shotgun that already has an 18.5 or 20 inch barrel. Mossberg 500 JIC (Just In Case) Cruiser Kit, 12ga 18.5"


Sure it is another $200, plus DROS etc., but you have a second gun. This is what I wished I had done, because with a family, in addition to me, I could have my wife and/or kids armed in a home defense scenario.

If you just want the black stock and forend from the 500 combo, I'll trade you mine for your wood furniture straight up. I have 2 500's and I'd like to add a little weight to one of them to help my son with recoil in the duck blind and on the trap range. PM me and we can exchange mailing info. You can find out how to take off the forend on youtube, and you'll need a long flathead screwdriver for the wood stock, but its all pretty easy.
