I am researching the issue of replacing the stock follower and have found a wealth of great info on here on other posts. The one question I have not found an answer to as yet is about the difference between the followers that show notches on each side and the smooth ones. I have not yet disassembled an 870 - am buying one but have not picked it up yet - so I don't know if there are guide notches in the magazine. The shotgun in question is an 870 express tactical, does anyone know if this magazine tube has notches that require the follower to be cut to fit or is it smooth? I appreciate all help on this!

Thanks for the feedback. Is that an aluminum follower? So it is just a strait drop in replacement, that answers a very key question. Thanks again!Comment
