So after about 150 shells, I took out my choke to shoot slugs and found that there was damage at the beginning of the taper and first couple threads were gone as the thinnest part of the opening.
So approx .25" was gone!
No damage to the rest of the device, just the win choke insert.
Mostly shot birdshot and once shot a mag of #4.
Anyone have this problem or solution?
I re-profiled it and hope there wont be anymore problems. But I suspect there may be a design flaw with using these thin walled inserts, like there might need to be more of a backing where the opening is. It was very thin.
