Remington R3 Recoil pad really work?

I have the standard solid rubber recoil pad on my 870 express and was wondering if the R3 recoil pad was really that much better. Is it worth the $30 and the claimed reduction in recoil?

it's the same as the sims pad, which are highly regarded.

I sure think it is. It's by far, the best recoil pad I've ever used. Makes my 12ga feel like a 20ga. Seriously.

I've heard some people really dis these (and the Kick-ez as well) but I've never heard any specific complaints. Perhaps, because they're so squishy, they deform quicker than normal? I keep my 870 stored muzzle-down through, so I'm not too worried about that possibility.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

My Rem 7600 Police in 308 has one and it takes a bunch of fight out of that little rifle.
