870 Wingmaster Shells

I have a 1960's Wingmaster 870 12 gauage that was missing the magazine plug. I put one in and now when the shell pops up from the magazine the one behind it pops back and the gun jams. Is their another part that stops the 2nd shell from popping out of the magazine tube?

The Shell Latch. One allows the first shell to feed and the other prevents the second one from feeding.
