Heard nothing but high praise. If you can find one at a decent price.

I have heard the same here. I saw a couple of pieces on the OutDoor channel and they loved em. One of em was the gun nuts if you watch that channel.

Lot of good information on Brian Enos forum on the Versa Max.
Only issue I have heard about is when shooting slugs. Barrel can be off quite a bit.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting

I have one and have no complaints yet. What are you thinking about using it for?

Several friends have the Versa max and are really happy with it. No problems at all. Starting to see a lot of them in 3 gun.

I've been waiting for an 18" to be released on the consumer side. They make one but will only sell to Leo and military for some reason.

what would make it different than say a mossberg 930? just curious since it is a bit more expensive. only thing i can see is +1 shell capacity and it already has the barrel clamp.

it has a special gas system where the gas is bled from a certain amount of holes depending on the size of the shell. it takes 3.5" shells and supposedly takes all loads light and heavy and cheaps on truckin. thats the selling point as far as I know.

I've been using my Versa Max for 3-gun for about six months now. Love it. When I first got it, I would take it out to shoot sporting clays, trap, skeet... and it not only shoots well but it has been 100% reliable. Bird, buck, slugs in 2 3/4 and 3" have run through without an issue. I've done two mods:
                              • +2 tube extension for a total of 10+1
                              • Welding the carrier to get rid of the fork -> no more ripping the top of the thumbs on fast reloads

Not sure about your use, but if it's for 3-gun, I recommend it wholeheartly.
