    #4 Buck contents

I just cut a winchester 12 ga #4 buck open (why? you ask. I am making a display of different shot sizes. hey, everyone has their idiosyncrasies) anyway, when I cut the top off lots of white granular stuff came out with it. Is that a defect, or is it made that way for some reason? Haven't seen it before. Also, is there any reason not to fire those now empty shells to make them safe?
    thanks for any info

It's called "buffer"...attempts to cushion the shot so it stays as round as possible.

No problem not to fire the empty hulls.

True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!
