    I'm not a shotgun expert.

I just purchased my first shotgun, an 870 Express Synthetic 18", used but NIB for $300. Consider the current prices for 870s plus the price of adding on the features you mention. I got a great deal and YMMV but I'd compare the price of the weapon against the price of building the weapon (ie buying a base model and adding the features).

    Hope that helps. Good luck!

The police magnum is a good buy. It has better internals such as a forged extractor and forged trigger assembly. The walnut stock is great too.

It is much better than any express model.

at $400.00 i'd strongly consider the 870P in excellent condition. the parkerized finish is a plus for me, and partially why i did purchase an 870P. what is 'normal wear and tear' on the 870P you are considering?

for HD i wouldn't choose ghost ring sights; personal preference.

It's actually a good price. I would buy it. No internal parts to exchange except for the Mapgul SGA accessories.

For the price, that 870P is a good buy if you like the Duracoat job on it.

I personally have an 870P that came from Anaheim PD that I paid $400ish for with DROS and auction fees. I kept the Parkerizing on mine since it was so well done by Remington.

You can see the pictures here. Please let me know if it is a good buy. Thank you.

seller posted "SPF" and "SOLD PENDING FUNDS" before you began your thread here. are you the buyer, or did you miss that the shotgun has been SPF?

That's pretty weak if you didn't tell the seller you are on the fence and might not actually buy it on Tuesday.
