    Mossberg 500 20 Gauge Question

Hoping someone can help me with some information. I own an older Mossberg Model 500 20 gauge pump shotgun that has a dual action bar 7-5/8" Slide Assembly and have been trying to mount a Hogue over molded foreend to it.

However do to the fact that the Hogue fore end is designed for a 12 gauge needless to say it does not work. I have found some adapters that said they would work but apparently I need to have the slide assembly tube that is only 6-1/2" long.

Does anyone know if I can swap my long slide for the short version and then that would allow me to use the special adapters to make the Hogue stock fit?

Here is a link that show the differences in the two slide lengths.

You can swap it out for the shorter 6 1/2" long assembly (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/911...500-c-20-gauge). Mind you would need the whole assembly with the action bars. Then to make your hogue fore end to fit check out Aimpro (http://aimprotactical.com/mossber_%2...ge_adapter.htm).

And as far as the Hogue stock, the 12 gauge will fit the 20 gauge receivers. I know this because I've installed a Hogue 12" LOP stock onto my friend's 20 gauge Mossberg 500.

Bounce a ball in Football that's a fumble. Baseball, no bouncing at all. Bounce a ball in Hockey, well that's a mandatory drug test right there...

Yeah I already have the aim pro adapter just trying to make sure I can use the shorter slide assembly with my gun. Not interested in the buttstock since I already have Mesa Tactical setup on it. Thanks for help I figured the shorter slide should work just wanted to know for sure before I placed an order for it.
