Bought a 65 shell holder bandoleer and was wondering if it was safe to load shells on them then hang it inside my closet? I was worried something might hit it and powders burst!

you should be allright. It's harder to set off primers than you may think.Originally posted by Marcus von W.Is that banjo music I hear?
"Sporter" is what the drooling toothless inbred albino with the hacksaw thinks his newly created "dear riffel" is.
"Bubba" is what he and his ugly and ruined rifle really are.
First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.
Next thing you know, you think "Deliverance" is a love story. -
Unless you've got a madman rampaging around in your closet with a nailgun rigged to not need to be placed against something to fire, I doubt there is anything going on in your closet that would expose primers in shells on a bandolier to anything they wouldn't have to survive sitting in a box.Comment

I've had one for about 2 years, never had a problem...None of my posts are serious or real, nothing I post is legal advice.

When I was more of a newbie also I had this sort of concern also.. I would treat ammo like it was TNT ready to go off... But then I read somewhere that:
1) the chance of any ammo falling or hitting some object and just going off are extremely low
2) even if it was to go off (they ve done tests on this) the bullet would not have would not have enough energy to cause damage.. The slight fear would be from shrapnel from the shell casing exploding. The barrel of the gun actually holds the casing together and stops it from exploding as we'll as allows most of the energy to be directed in a single direction behind the bullet.. With no barrel the energy is directed in all angles... Instead of most of the energy being in probably a 10 degree range it's spread out over 360 degrees.
3) I no longer fear ammo and I am now a man...lolWTB:

If the bandolier is leather, make sure the brass part of the shell is not tucked into the pocket too far.
I made the mistake of shoving a few shells into a leather side stock rack I've got and the leather seems to have retained some moisture and corroded the brass on the shells a bit - not to mention made it a little harder to pull out of the pocket."Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not."Comment

Only negative I see is stretching out the elastic from keeping shells in there over a long period of time. I used to keep shells in my bird hunting vest until I realized I was stretching out the pockets.Hic Ego Statio
