extension tubes on imported shotguns ok?

Is it legal to add extension tubes on imported shotguns as long as the total round capacity is at or under 8?
    Or are there specific restrictions?

I'm specifically looking to buy a new, rifle stock, semi-auto, import model.

    thanks!

You will need to play the game. Here's one site that explains and provides a few links to the actual law. After reading them, come back and ask any other questions you may have.

Increasing the ammo capacity of an imported shotgun to greater than 5 rounds, requires Fed 922r parts compliance.
