    Mossberg 500 sight ideas

I was going to put a red dot sight on my 500 and once I installed it I realized it's not going to fit into my scabbard. So now I'm wondering what are some good sights that might allow it to still fit it in the scabbard, or possibly just stick with the bead sight? I need your help.

Ohh also I have yet to shoot it I'll probably put some rounds down range by the end of the week to also help me get an idea of what I want to do.

was gonna start a sight thread but ill ask in here if thats ok?
i was looking at these two but now sure which one yet. the plain one from reviews said it snaps over the bead sight which i like. but the tacticool is well looks cooler lol
does anyone know the difference besides the housing? also if you have one or the other, do they snap over the bead sight. like this design since it can keep it center

I have this one on my Mossy and it works great. It snaps firmly on the barrel BEHIND the sight bead. There is a little notch in the front of the sight that allows you to put it behind the brass bead. Helps to hold it in place. I have over 500 rounds behind it and have never had an issue. It also comes with several replacement fiber optics in red and green. It comes with the big green fiber optic installed and that's what I have installed. Some of the reviews on Amazon warn about breaking the fiber optic when trying to swap them out, so I didn't even bother to try. It will definitely help you with quicker sight acquisitions and that thing glows nice and bright during the day. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I have something similar that I bought at Walmart that snaps on to the rib on my 500. I like it much better than the brass bead

I have the same HiViz sight on my 500, works fine with bird shot. But when I fired some slugs... the sight flew off. luckily I was able to find it.

The HiViz sights are a great upgrade over the bead sight, definitely helps with acquiring targets faster.
