Optics on your HD/Tactical Toobs

I wouldn't say optics are useless on a shotgun. Here's my view with optics and shotguns, if it helps you get target acquisition quicker and you have the means to buy a durable and reliable optic then I would say go for it. Otherwise, I'd stick to my ghost ring sights or beads.
I'd rather spend that money on a flashlight anyways. And on shells and lots of range time
Bounce a ball in Football that's a fumble. Baseball, no bouncing at all. Bounce a ball in Hockey, well that's a mandatory drug test right there... -
For HD and tactical the Eotech would work very very well I would think. You pay to play though not only do you have to purchase the Eotech but most shotguns will need to be drilled and tapped for some kind of a rail I think. Mine has ghost rings with two screws and most of the rails I have seen were 3 or 4 hole. Not sure of the cheaper red dots holding up to a SG though."Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

If you already have the Eotech and a rail hell yeah slap that puppy on there. I just sold mine but loved it for fast shots on the AR. I wanted to put it on the shotgun but didn't have the rail. I have seen and heard of Eotechs on all sorts of weapons including saws and stuff so gtg on a shotgun. Better than leaving it sit on a weapon in the safe you not using. Slap it on there for HD. When you want to use it on another weapon just swap it out. Way faster target acquisition for your HD shotgun than a ghost ring or bead."Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

You don't aim a shotgun, you point it with both eyes open. A flashlight is the only thing that I can think of that would be useful on an HD shotgun.Comment

You shoot a red dot especially an Eotech with both eyes open too
. I really don't think a flashlights going to help during the day either if an attack so happens to be in the daytime. The you don't aim a shotgun remark
do I really need to go there? Grats on putting the optic on there let us now how it works if you take it out to shoot it.

Well? Do you think a flashlight might help in the dark or would you rather have your Eotech at night? If you Could "go there" you would but your lack of shotgun knowledge has just surfaced. I'll save all the cute smilies for your use.You shoot a red dot especially an Eotech with both eyes open too

I am going to put a red dot on my shotgun. It helps with my cross dominance. My tactical shotgun has a picatinny rail on the top, gonna put my aimpoint pro on it, when i get an AR, i will use an aimpoint H1 on the shotgun. And I also have both of my eyes opened as well.Comment

Due to old eyes, I put a Trijicon reflex sight on my shotgun. It worked great– very easy to pick up targets. Plus, no batteries needed. The 24mm model weighs only 4.2 oz. The 42mm model is quite a bit heavier. I've used an eotech on a rifle, which worked fine for me if the target was not too distant. Try it, you'll like it.Comment
