    Determining Model 11 choke

    I recently bought a Remington Model 11 12gauge (Browning A5 American clone)
    I looked on the barrel and was unable to find anything about what choke it has
    It is still in jail for a while

    How do I go about determining what choke my shotgun has?

    From my basic knowledge of the A5s and Model 11s many of them seem to be on a full choke
    Mine seems like it is choked pretty tight so full would make sense

    I was advised against shooting buckshot or slugs through a barrel on a full choke
    Is there truth to this statement?

    I assume it would be due to the potential for damage to be caused by the tight constriction of a full choke

    Thank you for your help

    ><

    Take a dime and try to insert it in the choke....will it go in?

    No = Full

    Yes but snug = MOD

    Yes and I can wiggle it side to side = IC or more open then IC

    Browning would mark the a5 with an * for full..... ** for mod
