    Who still makes SxSs?

Simple question really. I'm in the market for a couple new shotguns, a 20ga field gun and a 20ga skeet gun, both of which will be Brownings and have their barrels stacked on top of eachother. However the third, I want a SxS, preferably 20ga, no clue why I want one, I just do. Since I don't really have a reason to own this gun, I'd like interchangeable chokes, under $1000, but if it's sexy enough I'll go up to $2000, if it's case hardened, engraved and gold inlayed, god help us all, the spending mite get out of control. I kind of want an English stock, and I thing case hardening is the bee's knees.

I know CZ makes approximately what I want, but what other options do I have? There has to still be at least a little bit of a market for SxSs, so what's out there?

For the $1000 you're looking for it's going to be tough to find a decent SxS. CZ like you mentioned makes a decent SXS for just around $1K. They make the Ring Neck and Bob White. They have a few configurations for field or target.

Finding a nice Browning BSS 20ga is getting tough, and even if you do the price will be more around $1500-$1700 if not more in some cases for 20ga guns.

You might consider a Spanish SxS, typically not a known name but a good Guild gun can be bought around $1K. Getting into the known names like AYA, Arrizabalaga, Garbi, Grulla will set you back a few thousand.

One other option if you're looking for a "nicer" Turkish gun is DeHaan: http://www.dhshotguns.com/. They are made by the same gun maker that makes them for CZ but to DeHaan's specs. Nicer engraving, really nice wood and overall decent for the cost. Getting a equivalent quality double by the higher name makers would cost over $10K where these are $2500 or so.

I have an Sgr7 20ga SxS that shoots very well. And yes there are "haters" that will tell you these are crap, but they are not. If you want to see one in person, let me know, we can meet at a shotgun range. Here's a pics:

Good luck finding your next SxS...

The $1000 price is more because it's an impulse buy that I really have no need for. I've got enough shotguns at this point that I could stock a gunshop and have something for everybody.

I like the classic look of double barrel shotguns, and don't have a 20ga SxS, nor do I have an actual need for one. Just think it would be a nice addition to the collection. Thanks for the tip on the DHS, great looking guns, with the lead time I don't think it's going to "scratch the itch" so I may get a CZ as well.

Have you thought about buying used? From what you descrbed a classic american double barrel like parker or Smith or Fox would suit your fancy. However they usually start around $1000 and run upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Beretta still has a SxS line too, not sure about pricing, but they are real nice looking and have that stock style.

I have shot a 20 gauge straight English stocked SxS and can tell you that it hits the shoulder as hard as a 12 gauge. ALL of the recoil goes to the shooter because there is no curvature of the stock to absorb anything. They do look great though and are usually lighter than the standard pistol grip style stock!

Used SKB 280 is one possibility. Check around for one of the recent Smith and Wesson Elite Golds, Cabela's has their "Dickinson" which s the Gold Elite after Smith dropped making it. The Smith and Dickinson will be over 1000, but not a lot over. I also recently saw a BSA for less than 1K, it's a Spanish gun with the old BSA name on it. Single select trigger, straight stock, tubes, case colors and 20ga.
