    Benelli gurus help please!

So I recently picked up an old gun from a buddy that he found in his grandfathers attic. It is a Benelli 121 to the best I can tell, but it has a long barrel (26.5" I beleive). It doesn't have any screw in chokes, it is a fixed full. I'm trying to find out any info that I can on the gun, but all searching has found me is info on the 121m1. Could this have been that gun with a barrel change, or did they actually sell the Benelli's with a hunting length barrel? Is it worth anything, or did I buy a weird curio? I only spent $200 on it (which seemed like a deal for a Benelli auto, but maybe I was wrong). Thanks for any info you might have.

I believe this to be a very early Benelli model which probably has the importer's, Heckler & Koch, identity on the reciever.

The Benelli M121 were the first generation of Benelli shotguns imported into the U.S in the early 80's and was the precursor to the M1S90. It's a good reliable shotgun. The only thing wrong is there is a design flaw that was later corrected in the M1 Super 90. There is a button on the right side of the receiver that you have to depress to get the shell lifter to raise when you load. This makes loading with the support hand while keeping the weapon on target a tad difficult. It can be done, but it's not as smooth as with the Super 90.
