depends on your gun. My moss 500 did not feed them well, they had a bad habit of flipping around when fed from the mag to the elevator.

Id say they're fun for plinking... but I would not recommend them for HD (my opinion)

Yeah, not good feeders, had to tilt 870 all around each time, which didn't seem too safe.

Unless they are SUPER cheaper even that Walmart value pack and you are teaching very sensitive types with breach loading gun, not much use.

The mini slugs seemed interesting because they were cheap and soft shooting, so nice for practice.

I've used them at the range, in the Ithaca 37 they cycle great. No duds. Low recoil. This was a riot configuration, so 14+1 fit with the extended tube mag.

I've seen modified elevators for sale for both 870s and 500s, specifically designed to be able to cycle these rounds.
I have not purchased or used one.

I've used them in my 870, you do have to be aware of possible jams.

I heard they were designed for the Winchester 1300 (I don't know if that is true, just remember reading it somewhere) and have used them flawlessly in mine... They hate my Mossberg 590A1

maybe it is just me, but I don't see full load buck as being that harsh, so I use the federal premium law enforcement buck. With the flight control, it keeps things really nice and tight even at 50+ yards.

For training I could see the mini buck shells just from a monetary cost standpoint.

It cycles well in my KSG. The pattern is kinda wind at 25 yards. But very tight at 10 yards (bedroom distance).

The recoil is pretty easy on the shoulder so I got some of the slugs and the buckshot for my wife to use in the coach gun - if she should choose to ...

They do not feed in my pump.

the ONLY shotgun they cycle reliably in is the winchester. as far as the ithaca goes, does anything cycle reliably in those gritbuckets? anyhow, i wouldn't count on them in anything other than a winchester, which i believe is actually recommended by the manufacturer. thankfully, i have one so this is not an issue. while it's neat to have hi-capacity, is it really necessary? if you can't sort out a problem with 5, or 7 shots of 12 gauge, you may be in too deep anyhow. that said, it is still cool to have a shotgun with a dozen or so rounds in it, especially if you have one that'll actually cycle them...

I use them in my Winchester Defender. Holds 9+1, recoil is minimal, I like them.

For SD I recommend the slugs. it makes a 12 ga manageable for any adult regardless of size. Though not as powerful as normal slugs they are better than any handgun you might use for SD.

These shells are the reason I chose the Defender.

That's one big bedroom. Mine is more like 2-3 yards

Yep, jams in both my 500 and 870.
                              Only good for range fun.
