    Tri-Rail Forend for 590a1

Have you installed said forend on your shotgun? If so, what is your experience? My 590a1 has the plain factory forend. I called Mossberg and was told they don't sell the part by itself. I searched a little and found that fab defense makes it for Mossberg. It looks like Mako is their distributor in the states. Reason I'm wanting to use a Tri-Rail forend is so I can mount a light/laser. I'm not interested in bolting on a flashlight clamp on my barrel because I don't want it to interfere with the shotguns bayonet lug. Thanks for your input.

I have the exact forend you are talking about from fab defense. It came stock on my 590a1 blackwater edition. It feels alright and doesn't seem like the light/laser would interfere with your grip. I don't have experience with any other forend because this is the only gun I own so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I plan on getting a nice light for it!

You can buy a scope base/ rail and attach it to your existing forend for under $10.
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
      (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

I have it on my 18" 590A1, got it for $50 off of Amazon, with a TLR-1 on the side. I'm no expert, but it gets the job done, nicely in my opinion. I planned to put an AFG on the bottom rail, but it's quite comfortable to use with nothing on it. A friend of mine has larger hands than me, and feels like the side rails get int he way of his grip, but that might just be him.

had one, didn't like it, dumped it. the rails were uncomfortable, even with covers on. the forend is a lousy place for a light or laser, IMHO.

I have one for my 870 and i like it. You can remove one or both of the side rails in case they are not being used. I only have a scout light mounted on the ejection port side and removed the other side rail so I dont hit it with my thumb.
