Re-finish or replace my 590a1 barrel?

Its old its been beat to crap. The parkerized finish is gone on about 75% of it. I love the gun its a workhorse and it was my first firearm. It has factory ghost ring sights a thicker barrel and double welds. My question is would it be cheaper to replace just the barrel or just re-parkerize the whole thing? The barrel is the only part lacking the finish.

      I would just refinish it.

Unless its rusting, do neither. Just keep it as is and save your money.

I'm a firm believer that there is a psychological impediment to the proper use of a new or "minty" looking gun. People get preoccupied on dings, scratches or dirt and try to protect the gun rather than protecting yourself.

          Anyway....

If your shotgun has been heavily used, many think the wear marks add character. If you make it look mint again, in a few years it'll look like it does now. I say leave it be and save your money for shells. But I'm one of those that love the look of a well used firearm. I only like refinishing when it's been deeply scratched, pitted, or rusting.

Meh just leave it alone. Wear marks on a gun means that you actually use it.
