Like the title says short and sweet.

Do any of the clubs in the LA basin (or heck to the border) have a FITASC setup? WOuld live to try a round and see what its like.

    Yes and no.

None of them have dedicated FITASC Parcours, but Triple B will sometimes hold a FITASC race as a side event to one of their bigger events.

That being said, there's not really that much difference between a FITASC target presentation, and a big boy sporting clays target presentation.

When I was getting ready for the World FITASC in Chicago this year, I just went to TBC and shot everything FITASC "style".

Low gun, collared shirt, closed toe shoes, don't move the gun until you see the bird, full use of the gun on singles, shoot a single once, a pair once, and move on.

When you shoot a 100 bird FITASC race, you're really shooting 100 unique target presentations.

TBC has a monthly SC tournament this Sunday. Come out and we'll shoot FITASC when it's over.

      Clicky the linky

Forget all the crap on the other thread. Fitasc is fun. You don't have to repeat the stupid pairs 3,4 or 5 times.....hoorah. You get to shoot twice at the singles (and at the same bird in pairs , if you want to). The rules aren't hard and (almost all of ) the refs are not hard asses. YES ,the...

We had our first ever FITASC shoot today at our club. The main objective was to give newbees to Fitasc and idea of procedure and rules.. One of the problems I had was with the tape you put on the vest for gun mount point. I used frezzer tape and on some materials it kept coming off... Any...

Brad , thanks for the offer but honeydos are the rule of this weekend. Do you think we could do it after the Rahaugees fun shoot in DEC?

          I almost forgot.

Up to a three second delay, no 1-1/8oz shells (1oz max, they may check), no short shorts (FITASC is a gentleman’s sport), no practice mounting in the Peg, and no coaching when the shooter is in the Peg (you can’t tell the shooter, you need more lead).

That being said, there’s “new style” FITASC and “old style” FITASC. “Old style” FITASC is the most common because it requires less machines, but it takes longer to shoot.

For a 100 bird race in “old style” FITASC there are four Parcours (shooting fields) with three Pegs each (shooting positions that are really just hula-hoops on the ground). You shoot 25 birds per Parcour.

There are usually five machines per Parcour, labeled A, B, C, D, and E. From Peg 1 you shoot four singles A, B, C and D, and two pair, one of which will include the E machine (for a total of eight birds).

Everybody shoots their singles first, then the second person on the squad leads off on the pairs. After everyone has shot, the whole squad moves to Peg 2 to repeat the process. The third squad member leads off the singles, and number four leads off the pairs. Then it’s on to Peg 3. One of the Pegs has an extra bird to make 25 (8 +9+8=25). After everyone has shot, the whole squad moves to the next Parcour.

New style is basically the same, the only difference is each Peg on the Parcour has its own machines, so a 100 bird race needs 60 machines vs. old style that only needs 20.

If anybody want to give it a try, ping me (I won’t blow a whistle in your ear or scream at you in French, I swear).

Hi, I have to shoot and jet right after Raahauge's, so I can't do it that day.

Are you free on the 8th?

Ray, how's the 8th for you?

This might be wrong. I'll have to check.

I don't think they can introduce a machine into the pairs that you haven't shot as a single.

I was right, I was wrong

You won't see a target in the pair that you haven't shot as a single.
